Dear Roz thankyou so much for such a fabulous day. It was lovely to meet you and all of your team, so talented and very welcoming.
Now I am home I am just overwhelmed by the quality of the flowers you produce. I am particularly impressed by your antirrhinums. They are so strong and beautiful. It was good to have a go at handties, and I learnt more floristry. I really enjoyed the propagation afternoon and have got my cuttings and seeds in a happy place.
Ive come home with a list of new plants for me I am going to try to grow them from seed loved the achillea pearl the dahlia pom pom and the chinese asters.
Looking forward to learning more about growing beautiful flowers.

Why Roz?
As a child, Roz loved nothing more than messing around outdoors. Some of her favourite memories are of a school exchange visit to a farm in France – a long way from the new town of Hemel Hempstead where she grew up.
Several decades later and Roz has created her own farm – at her home in Lathbury, Milton Keynes where she runs the thriving 5 acre flower farm Field Gate Flowers.
A BSc in Environmental Science led onto studying for an MA in Digital Strategies with a research project on the sustainability of flower farming. Combine this with a career of over 30 years in marketing and sales and there is little doubt that Roz is one of the only flower farmers globally with such an extensive combined knowledge of sales / marketing and cut flower farming.
Sustainable Growing
Roz is passionate about growing, harvesting and arranging seasonally-grown British blooms without putting additional strain on the environment. Field Gate Flowers was established in 2012 and to this day is run on the principles of organic and sustainable farming. In partnership with horticultural consultants and her RHS-qualified plant team, Roz employs biological and cultural control methods such as natural predators, and promotes the use of sustainable floral mechanics to hold blooms and foliage in place for any floristry carried out on the farm or using Field Gate plant material.
Business Mentoring
Prior to running a flower farm, Roz set up and developed a digital marketing agency, employing over 30 staff and working with clients such as The Open University, Unilever, and EasyJet. For several years she was a Non-Executive Director of one of the largest agricultural buying groups in the UK, giving her an innate understanding of farming and the challenges faced.
Roz completed the Business Growth and Development programme at Cranfield School of Management, based around the 7 levers of growth and making businesses profitable, concurrent with working as an interim Marketing Director for several multi-million-pound clients across the UK.
She now offers:
1:1 mentoring to small business owners and those considering a career change.
Growth Club, a membership learning community designed for small business owners who want to increase visibility.
‘Blooming Business’ – a 6-month interactive course for flower farmers looking to scale up or those looking to set up a flower farm business.
‘The Best Bunch’ – a membership group for passionate cut flower growers to learn, share and enjoy growing together.
Has she any hobbies?
When not in the fields, Roz loves having adventures. A keen cyclist, she aims to take on at least one charity ride a year in far-flung places, the most recent being in India, Madagascar, Morocco (those Atlas Mountains), and Vietnam.
Roz has two daughters, a husband, 3 pigs, 2 goats, 12 chickens, a dog, and a farm cat.
What next?
Roz’s dream is to encourage more people to build the businesses they deserve in flower farming. She is currently developing an advanced business course for flower farmers looking to use existing skills to diversify their income through digital revenue streams.
