Don't just take our word for it. Watch our testimonial video here
Flowers are something special. But, homegrown blooms are something really special. Not just because they are fresh, naturally grown and not flown in, but because you have nurtured them yourself from Seed to Vase. Our unique course is designed to guide you every step of the way, transforming confusion into clarity.
Imagine walking down the garden path and returning with armfuls of beautiful blooms...
WE CAN CREATE IT TOGETHER!
Growing your own blooms will...
Save you money
Buying in arrangements from florists or a flower delivery subscription can add up, even if you buy from the supermarket. Plus growing your own will save you buying plants at the garden centre - and we have an exclusive discount just for you!
Improve your health
Getting your hands dirty is proven to have positive benefits for your physical and mental health. Gardening is fabulous for your mental wellbeing and fitness!
Give you huge satisfaction!
Watching your plant babies grow is very exciting - magical even! Possibly, only beaten by the feeling of bringing your home-grown blooms into the house!
Help the Environment
Currently 90 percent of all blooms coming into the UK (and the same goes for many countries globally), come in from as far away as Kenya, Ethiopia and Chile. They are heavily treated with pesticides(to increase productivity) and chemicals (in order to make the journey and last from picking to the shelves of a florist or supermarket via a complicated supply chain to you). The effect on the environment is heavily documented. In the UK we were a nation of growers and we seem to have lost our way.

I'm sure you have questions about Seed To Vase...
Will this course really save me money compared to buying cut flowers?
Without hesitation, I can say that it will save you money (and you will be saving the planet for your children and grandchildren by not buying imported flowers covered in chemicals)
If you currently enjoy a flower delivery at £29 per week from a well known service, you will save £1,015 over the time of the course alone - saving you £10,000s over the coming years. You will be able to replace them with your own blooms!
And if you buy flowers at the supermarket for £10 per week, together with say, six bunches of flowers from the florists at £50, this is a total of £650 over the life of the course. We will teach you for life!
It sounds wonderful, Roz, but is this programme really for me?
This course is much more than just another online course. If you're ready to forever change your relationship with cut flowers - Seed to Vase is for you. This is the course that brings your dream to life. You’ll be learning everything you need to grow, cut, and arrange stunning bouquets to delight your friends and family. We cover everything you need to know about growing, planting, tending, controlling pests, soil, compost, floristry and so much more.
You will find tremendous value in this Seed to Vase course if:
You’re a complete beginner.
Or
You discovered a love of gardening during lockdown (7 million did!)
Or
You’re an experienced vegetable gardener who hasn’t tried flowers.
Or
You know something about gardening, but not really a cutting patch.
Or
You are a florist or love arranging blooms and want to be more cost-effective and sustainable.
Or
You have been growing blooms, love flowers and want to learn more. There's always more to learn!
Or
You are thinking of a side hustle, a community project or indeed embarking on a career as a flower farmer.
Or
You would love to grow your own wedding or event flowers.
Do I really have enough land for this?
Yes. All you need is 5-6 square metres for your cutting patch. This can be a container, a raised bed, within an existing border or a mix! You will also need windowsills or coldframe. A greenhouse or polytunnel is great but you don’t need it.
Why is your course different to others ?
Honesty, there is nothing like Seed to Vase. This is why we are different:-
. Comprehensive and Step-by-Step Approach: Our course is structured to cover everything you need to know to have your own cut flowers. Roz is so accessible and wants to ensure you have all the skills. (Actually, she works 7 days a week and loves it)
. Expertise and Professionalism. Our team are experts and have years of experience. We add to this with monthly guest speakers.
. Community and Support: We pride ourselves on an active community and continuous expert support. We are with you.
. Making the course accessible to all. We pride ourselves on the low-cost monthly plans, and at £1.61 a day, our course represents amazing lifetime value.
. Experience. Having taught 100's of flower lovers, we know what works. Our course has been added to over the years and we believe it's the best there is.
I already have a good understanding of growing flowers, so what will I learn?
I see you, advanced student and I acknowledge your expertise. Of course, you could skip parts you feel you really know. But... you may want to have a look. There is always something to learn in cut flower growing. I am still learning and would love to share this with you.
This is a rare opportunity to learn from our team of resident experts, headed up by Roz Chandler of Field Gate Flowers. Roz has been flower farming for nearly 12 years, handled over 500 weddings, 1,000s of bouquets and yes, too many funerals. She is joined by a team of specialists in their fields including a Chelsea Gold Medalist - check them out below.
You might be surprised at the new tips and tricks you’ll pick up from these pros! Regardless of your experience level, you’ll love how quickly you learn.
I work and need to fit work, childcare and life in. Can I manage this?
Our course is designed so that you can consume content from lots of channels at lots of different times. You will not have a problem fitting it in. Everything is recorded and available to you for lifetime access.* We built the course with maximum flexibility so everyone could join in.

ANSWERS TO COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I am based outside the UK, can I still join Seed to Vase ?
We love to welcome students from all over the world - it is fascinating to see how your cutting patch develops slightly differently from those in the UK. Our live sessions are generally scheduled at 8pm GMT/12noon PST/9pm CET/3pm EST but are always recorded and available to watch back. Lots of our overseas students love to grow an 'English Cottage Garden'!
Our course will cover climate zones and we will run sessions on these and how to adapt. All our materials are aimed at learning skills and you will need to adapt these for your zone and we will guide you on this.
Sadly, due to bio-security restrictions, we are not able to send the seed packs outside England, Scotland and Wales, but you will still follow along in the sow-a-long. We will provide a list of seeds in the box for you and a PDF on how to grow these.

And the person behind it all, Roz Chandler
Roz Chandler together with her team in Lathbury, Milton Keynes (the home of roundabouts and concrete cows) is passionate about growing, harvesting, and arranging seasonally grown British blooms. Field Gate Flowers established for nearly thirteen years is a thriving flower farm. Now she is a best-selling author with a top ten cut flower podcast!
As a child Roz loved nothing more than messing around outdoors. Her favourite memories were on a school French exchange on a farm in France. This was a long way from the New Town of Hemel Hempstead that Roz grew up in.
The outdoors featured highly in Roz’s early years, and then she went to Plymouth Polytechnic (those A levels were never going to get her into medical school) to study Environmental Science. Her thesis was on the carcinogenic effects of nitrates from fertilisers in water. A lot of dark winter evenings were spent collecting samples in the River Lea. (felt very radical back then).
In 2007, Roz purchased a rather sad looking barn with five acres of land and so the dream began. Roz was a novice and certainly had not come from a background of horticulture.
Roz is passionate about reducing the number of imported flowers coming into the UK. The Dutch government heavily invested in the 1970s and Holland became the hub of European flowers – flowers coming in from Africa and further afield to adorn our supermarket shelves.
When not in the fields, Roz loves having adventures. A keen cyclist, she always takes on at least one charity ride a year in far-flung places, the most recent (pre-pandemic!) have been India, Madagascar, Morocco (those Atlas Mountains) and Vietnam.
On her bucket list is the dream to cycle all the Greek islands over 6 months with just a bike and a friend for charity. What could possibly go wrong?
Roz has two daughters, a husband, 7 pigs, two goats, 5 chickens, a dog and a recently added cat. What next?
Roz’s dream is to encourage more people to grow, harvest and arrange seasonal flowers.
We hope you are ready to transform your gardening dreams into reality. Don't let another season pass by without enjoying the many rewards of growing your own cut flowers.
